The tenth grade (ko ichi) and eleventh grade (ko ni) students got iPads this year to use in class and to help them study. It's hard to believe that five years ago most people were still using flip phones (gara-kei) and now we have these amazing tools. I don't own an iPad, but I think the new ones are pretty cool. They are very thin and light, and they have beautiful screens.
高校１年生と高校２年生は授業で使用したり勉強の助けとするため、今年からiPadを使用しています。ほとんどの人が折りたたみ式携帯電話（ガラケー）を使用していた５年前からすると、今私達がこれらの素晴らしい道具を使っていることは信じ難いことです。私は自分用のiPadを持っていませんが、新しいそれらはとても格好良いと思います。iPadはとても薄くて軽く、美しい画面が付いています。
There are a lot of really useful apps for studying and now our students can use them, too. In class the iPads allow students to collaborate on reports or projects more easily, and it allows them to do their work more quickly. iPads have a lot of potential and it will be fun to see how our students use them.
勉強のための実に便利なアプリが沢山あり、生徒達はそれらも使うことができます。iPadは授業で生徒達がレポートやプロジェクトなどを共同で作業することをより簡単にしてくれる上、作業をより素早く行うこともできます。iPadは大きな可能性を秘めていて、生徒がどのように活用していくのかを見るのは面白いだろうと思います。 Translated by M.I 高２
