Staying in New Zealand was wonderful! It was the first time for me to go to abroad but I experienced many valuable things in New Zealand. I found a lot of differences of culture between Japan and New Zealand. People in New Zealand do not peel apples.
They are not punctual so my English teacher came into the classroom late every day.
Students in New Zealand can use their phones and eat snacks in the school.
ニュージランドで過ごした日々は素晴らしかった。私はその時初めて外国に行ったのだが、私はニュージランドでたくさんのとても貴重な経験ができた。たくさんの日本とは異なる文化を見つけることができた。ニュージランドの人々はリンゴの皮をむかない。時間に厳格ではない。私の先生も毎日教室に遅れて入ってくる。ニュージランドの生徒は学校内で携帯を使ったり、おやつを食べたりしている。
I learned not only English but also Maori culture, and the history of the country.
Maori are aboriginal people in New Zealand. Their culture is peculiar so it was interesting for me to learn about it. We danced the Haka, a traditional Maori dance.
私は英語だけでなくマオリの文化も学んだ。それから国の歴史も。マオリはニュージランドの土着民だ。彼らの文化は一風変わっているので私はそれを学ぶのが楽しかった。私たちはハカというマオリの伝統的なダンスを学んだ。
My host family was nice and kind to me. My host sister, Nicole, was my best English teacher. We went to school together every day. When I made Okonomiyaki for dinner, she helped me. We made origami, played cards every night, and talked about Japan and New Zealand. We made a lot of memories. She will come to Shinagawa-ku, where I live, next year! I'm looking forward to meeting her again.
私のホストファミリはとても良くて私に親切にしてくれた。私のホストシスターのニコルは私の一番の英語の先生だった。私たちは毎日一緒に学校へ行った。私が夕飯におこのみやきを作った時、彼女は私を手伝ってくれた。私たちは毎晩折り紙をして日本とニュージランドについて話した。私たちは多くの思い出を作った。彼女は私が住んでいる品川区へ来年来る予定だ。私は彼女に再び会うことが待ちどおしい。
