My Experience in Hong Kong / 香港で経験したこと

　This summer, I participated in a program called "Sino Japan Youth Conference " (I'd call it SJYC) Participants from mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan gathered in Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong to discuss Sino Japan relations and promote peace.

　I decided to participate in this seven-day conference because I was interested in China. I was especially curious about Chinese culture and the education systems.I had been to China and Hong Kong before , but I couldn't differentiate these two places because I didn't know about these places well. I thought that this would be a good chance for me to encounter people with entirely different backgrounds and learn more about those unique cultures.

　During the conference, we had a lot of discussions various issues related to the three regions such as the territorial dispute over the Senkaku Islands and Nanjin Massacre. Discussing these topics was a little complicated for me because I never had a chance of talking about these problems in Japan, especially with people around the same age as I am. Through lots of discussions, I learned to respect others' opinions and think things in a logical way.

　All the students (and the organizers ) in SJYC had an objective perspective about each topic and always willing to listen to others' opinions . I was amazed with their strong passion for learning. For example, my roommate Camile was curious about the differences between the Japanese education systems and Chinese education systems. I can't forget that We talked about this until midnight.
　In conclusion, I have learned many things during these seven days. I will find what I can do next.
