Last night I went for dinner with my friend. We went to a Chinese restaurant that is famous for gyoza. We ate lots of gyoza, which were delicious, and then we ordered a dish called ピータン. Pitan is called Century Egg in English. I had never heard of it before, so I googled it. I was so surprised!!
昨夜、私は友人と一緒に夕食を食べに行きました。私たちは餃子で有名な中華料理店に入りました。
私たちはとてもおいしい餃子をたくさん食べました。それから私たちはピータンと呼ばれる料理を注文しました。ピータンは英語では、「century egg（百年たった卵）」と呼ばれています。私は今までに聞いた事がなかったのでグーグルで調べてみました。私はとても驚かされました。
According to wikipedia, century egg is duck, chicken or quail eggs that are preserved. They are put in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls. They are kept there for a long time. Sometimes they are kept there for several weeks, or sometimes for several months. They look very interesting and a little strange. They turn completely black. The texture is similar to regular hard-boiled egg, and there isn't really any flavour.私たちはとてもおいしい餃子をたくさん食べました。それから私たちはピータンと呼ばれる料理を注文しました。ピータンは英語では、「century egg（百年たった卵）」と呼ばれています。私は今までに聞いた事がなかったのでグーグルで調べてみました。私はとても驚かされました。
There isn't really a smell either. I ate them, but I'm not sure if I like them or not.
