A New Year / 新年度
The school year is just getting under way here at FGS. We had our entrance ceremonies last week and now all classes are in session. The students are in good spirits and seem to be happy to be back at school. It has been one year since we had to begin adjusting to life in a pandemic. Many people believed these changes would be short-lived, however, we still need to be careful and adjust how we used to do things. Last week, I had lunch time duties in the high school classrooms. Teachers were asked to go there at the beginning of lunch to help the students prepare to eat silently and safely. Of course, the students were used to this and did so easily. It looked strange at first — students hidden behind white partitions, but by the second day it looked normal. It was fun to see how the students decorated their partitions. Even though I couldn’t see the students, I could see their personalities shining through. We still need to be careful but I’m glad to see the students enjoying school life while being safe.
